When I opened up my belly print I cried. Getting a belly print done was completely out of my comfort zone, and not something I would usually do. Coming to the end of a high risk pregnancy I decided to book in. I absolutely hated my body at the time as I felt like it was failing me. Despite the risks, I now have a beautiful and healthy 9 week old. When it arrived, I opened it up and burst into tears. I am in love with it and I’m in love with what my body has done for me. I didn’t take any pictures of my growing bump due to how I felt and I’m so glad I now have this beautiful reminder. My husband was reluctant to book in and not a fan of the price. When he saw it he said ‘I thought it would just look like a generic pregnant belly, but it’s you. I can tell it’s you. It’s worth every penny.’ It’s currently tucked safely away in its box whilst we’re decorating. But I can’t help going and stealing a look at it and can’t wait until it has a permanent home on display. After having a somewhat difficult pregnancy, I find that I miss my bump so much. I decided to get bellyprint done when I was 36 weeks and I'm so happy that I did. It's absolutely amazing. Honestly in love with my @bellyprint_uk After seeing bellyprints advertised on Instagram I was *SO* excited to meet Jackelyn at the Baby Show in Birmingham back in May and see for myself if this was something I was going to do. I could never have imagined then, just how emotional it would be to look at this beautiful sculpture now. When I went to see Jackelyn in her home studio in July she immediately put me at ease and made me feel so comfortable and confident in my body (which by Aug at 7½ months pregnant was not easy for me as my body was already struggling massively with the physical toll of being pregnant). Having an 18 year gap between pregnancies is one thing, being 18 years older myself made it physically more challenging but also to have a chronic pain condition like Fibro was in another league. I knew pregnancy was going to be a challenge when we started our pregnancy journey in 2023, but I never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be as difficult and painful as it was. This sculpture is not just a reminder of my last ever pregnancy, but a reminder of how hard it was and how grateful I am to have got through it. I look at my beautiful, perfect little girl next to it and think just how grateful I am for my body, how it was worth every pain, every tear, every set back and every complication!!! I'm so glad Bellyprint has a UK specialist now, if it hadn't been for Jackelyn, I would never have had this absolutely beautiful keepsake of my last pregnancy.
